Snow Base

This is an environment that I made in Unreal Engine. My goal with this environment was to create an abandoned hidden snow base in the mountains. This entire concept was heavily influenced by the snow base from John Carpenter's movie, "The Thing" (1982). Below is a video game cinematic I created to showcase all the various assets I created for this environment. Below the cinematic are style sheets showing off the various hero assets, LOD's, housing unit and overall environment that I created. I am responsible for all assets seen in the video below. I used Unreal Engine 4, Maya, Substance Painter and Photoshop to achieve this final result.

Mood Board:

This was the mood board for my overall environment to create an abandoned sci-fi snow base.

Below are the mood board and style sheet for my hero asset. As I continued to improve upon this the textures and UV's shown are not the final UV's and textures in my cinematic. I did these textures in photoshop and my final textures were done in substance once I learned how to use the program more efficiently.

LOD's

After creating my main hero asset I went on to create 3 level of detail assets for the player to interact with. Below is the mood board for my LOD's and then the style sheets for them showing the close-up renders, wire frame with poly count and the texture maps.

Housing Unit

After creating my LOD assets I then went on to create various pieces of my housing unit that I could use to duplicate and transform to create a larger unit. I did this so I could use fewer polygons and utilize more texture space. Below is the mood board, render from unreal, housing unit pieces wireframe and poly count and then a texture grid of the texture maps used.
